Torchwood: Children of Earth Second BBC One Trailer

tw_coe_bbcone_trailer2The official Torchwood BBC site has been updated once again today and they have uploaded a new trailer for the highly anticipated third series, known as Children of Earth. The new trailer takes on a similar format as to the one that was shown the other day, however there are new caption and previously un-seen clips to accompany the series. The trailer is expected to begin airing on BBC One from tonight, but you can currently see the trailer here. Torchwood starts next Monday at 9.00pm on BBC One.

With the video’s came a new trailer and a preview for the web series ‘Up Close’, the trailer that was posted on the website was then ultimately shown after Celebrity Masterchef at 9.00pm on BBC One. The shows captions and clips from the highly anticipated third series of the show. You can see the trailer here and the Up Close preview here on the Planet Who News YouTube channel. Torchwood: Children of Earth Even More Promo Pics

tw_coe_promopics5The Australian UKTV website have updated their Torchwood site with a photo gallery, with the gallery, they have uploaded more Children of Earth promo pictures. Some of the pictures have already been used in various magazines to promote the show and some have also been used on the Torchwood Children of Earth press pack that was released the other week. You can see the new promo pictures along with all previously released pictures on the gallery here. Torchwood Children of Earth begins airing in the UK on 6th July at 9pm, in the USA and Canada it begins airing 20th July 9pm and starts in Australia on 7th July 8.30pm.

Torchwood: Children of Earth CONFIRMED Air Date and Time

tw_coe_air_date-updateThe BBC Press office updated their programme information yesterday to fully include Torchwood into the BBC One schedule. The programme information now states that Torchwood: Children of Earth will start airing from Monday 6th July at 9pm and continue for the rest of the week until the last episode on Friday 10th July. Now that we have a fixed air date and time, the BBC should start airing trailer for the epic five part mini series soon, as soon as the BBC do, the trailers will be uploaded to the Planet Who News YouTube channel here.

The episode stills released are varied and span over all five episodes, showing major spoilers concerning the children on 1965. Torchwood: Children of Earth 1 New Promo Image

tw_coe_promopics3The BBC have released a new promo image promoting the highly anticipated third series of the hit doctor who spin-off show. The new promo image is of Captain Jack Harkness and has recent been used in the press pack that the BBC released last week. Torchwood Children of Earth is to broadcast in the week 4th-10th July in the UK and on the 20th July in the USA and it has also been recently confirmed that Children of Earth will air the same day in Canada as it does in the USA. When we have a fixed date for Children of Earth in the UK it will posted here as soon as it is known.

Torchwood: Children of Earth UK Air Date (Sort of)

tw_coe_synopsisesEarlier today the BBC updated their progrmme information to include TV Week 27 (4th – 10th July), in the information it shows that Torchwood: Children of Earth is unplaced in that week. This means that the 5-part mini series could air anywhere between Saturday 4th July to Friday 10th July. The programme information states that new series of Hotel Babylon is continue airing at 9pm on Fridays which could mean that Torchwood may start on Sunday 5th July and continue through to Thursday 9th July. Along with the programme information, new synopsis’ have been released for each episode, all 5 can be seen below, but beware of possible spoilers;

Day One
An ordinary day becomes one of terror, as every single child in the world stops. A message is sent to all the governments of Earth: “We are coming.” But, as a trap closes around Captain Jack, the sins of the past are returning and long-forgotten events from 1965 threaten to reveal an awful truth.
Torchwood is forced underground as the government takes swift and brutal action. As members of the team are hunted down, Britain risks becoming a rogue state. Meanwhile, the mysterious and powerful 456 draws ever-closer.
Captain Jack, Gwen and Ianto are helpless as events escalate to such a degree that mankind faces the end of civilisation itself.
Day Two
As the new Torchwood adventure continues, the team is forced underground when the government takes swift and brutal action. With members of the team being hunted down, only Lois holds the key to Torchwood’s salvation. But she is helpless as her superiors make plans for the mysterious Floor 13.
Day Three
The eyes of the world turn to Britain, as the 456 announce: “We are here,” as the new Torchwood adventure continues. As a pillar of fire descends upon London, the members of Torchwood must battle to protect their own families as the fight gets personal. But will Clem’s memories destroy everything?
Day Four
Torchwood finally learns the truth about the events of 1965, as the adventure continues. But Britain is in danger of becoming a rogue state, and everything now pivots around John Frobisher, as the Ambassador of the 456 destroys its old allegiances and reveals its true intent.
Day Five
Torchwood is defenceless and Gwen Cooper stands alone, as the final sanction begins, in the last part of the new Torchwood adventure.
As violence erupts and the world descends into anarchy, an ordinary housing estate becomes a battleground, where the future of the human race will be decided.

Torchwood: 3 New Promo Images

tw_coe_promopics2Yesterday the BBC released three new promo images to promote the highly anticipated third series of the hit doctor who spin-off show, Torchwood. The three new promo images show all three team members in a warehouse surrounding, one of the new promo images is currently being used as an asset to the cover for the second radio play, The Golden Age. Torchwood: Children of Earth is expected to being airing sometime next month in the UK and will begin airing on the 20th July in the USA, more information on the UK date will be posted once it is released. Torchwood: The Golden Age and The Dead Line CD Covers

tw_radioplays2BBC Audio have released the cover’s for the last two radio plays, The Golden Age and The Dead Line. The first radio play , Asylum, will broadcast on 1st July at 2.15pm on BBC Radio 4, the second and third radio plays, The Golden Age and The Dead Line will air on 2nd July and 3rd July at 2.15pm on BBC Radio 4. Both CD’s are scheduled to be released on 6th August at a rrp of £9.78.
The synopsis’ for The Golden Age and The Dead Line can be seen below;

On the trail of a dangerous energy field, Torchwood are led to Delhi. As the energy field grows once more, they witness the simultaneous disappearance of hundreds of people. Jack discovers that the field centres on an old colonial mansion – Torchwood India. Shocked to find that Torchwood India is still going strong – he shut it down himself over 80-years ago – he’s even more surprised to find that its members, including his old flame the Duchess, haven’t aged a day.
The Dead Line written by Phil Ford.
When a Cardiff Hospital is inundated with patients who have fallen into coma like trances, Torchwood move in to investigate. The trances appear to have been triggered by phone calls, all received on retro phones and made from a number that hasn’t been active for over 30-years. Determined to find out who’s been calling the unfortunate victims, Jack rings the mysterious number – two, oh, five, nine – nothing. It’s a dead line. Until, it calls Jack back…

Torchwood: Region 1 DVD and Blu-Ray Covers

Both releases contain two discs, which will have a host of special features on them. The third series, named Children of Earth, is broadcast on BBC America on the 20th July at 9/8C, a UK airdate is still unknown but should be released soon, as soon as it is released I will post it on here.

Torchwood: Children of Earth Press Pack Released

tw_coe_presspackYesterday, the BBC Press Office released the press pack for the upcoming third series of Torchwood. The press pack includes a short synopsis, a cast and crew list and interviews with Russell T Davies, John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd and Kai Owen.
John Barrowman said;

I think the one storyline works perfectly for this series – it’s epic, it is pacy.

He then want on to say;

The series will also reveal that one of the Torchwood team is hiding a dark secret – a potential catalyst for even more action-packed drama.

The five-part mini-series is expected to air in July, when the official air date is released, I will post it on here.

Torchwood: Series 4 is Ready

tw_s4readyTaking part in the Q+A at the screening of Children of Earth – Day One, Russell T Davies announced that if the 5-part mini-series proves well in the ratings than a fourth series would be commissioned. Children of Earth – Day One, which is expected to air sometime next month, got rave reviews at the screening with people saying that it is ‘fantastic’ and one person even said that ‘RTD has out done himself this time’. Children of Earth will air in the USA starting from 20th July, the UK airdate is still unknown but more information will be posted when it is released

The series shown over 5 consecutive nights in July on BBC One follows the three remaining Torchwood members battle against the government to save the earth again. The cover shows that the DVD contains 2 discs which will contain all 5 episodes and some special features, including Torchwood De-Classified. The RRP for the DVD is £25.99 and £29.99 for the Blu-ray release. With the news of the DVD cover an alternate synopsis for the five part series has been released;

Torchwood Radio Plays Air Date and Asylum cover

tw_radio_playsBBC Radio 4 have now confirmed the days and time that the three Torchwood radio plays will air. The first radio play, Asylum, will air on Wednesday 1st July at 2.15pm and the other two will air on the Thursday and Friday after at the same time. BBC Audio have also released the cover for the CD release of the first radio play, Asylum by Anita Sullivan, which can be seen below. The second radio play, Golden Age is written by James Goss and the final play is written by Phil Ford. All three radio plays star John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd, the synopsis’ for all three episodes can be seen below;

Torchwood: Children of Earth to air 20th July

tw_coe_air_dateThe week beginning 20th July see’s BBC America’s HD channel launch in the USA, with that launch there is a special sci-fi week in store. Programmes include Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead on 26th July at 8.00pm ET/PT, the series premiere of Being Human on 25th July at 9.00pm ET/PT, which stars Lenora Crichlow, from Gridlock and Russell Tovey from Voyage of the Damned. The last headlining show to air that special week is the highly anticipated premiere of Torchwood; Children of Earth, on 20th July at 9.00pm ET/PT, running everyday up to Friday. Although no official air date has been given in the UK, Torchwood is expected to air on the same day as the US, so in the coming weeks expect to see plenty of trailers hitting the BBC channels. In other Torchwood news, the BBCA Torchwood site has recently been redesigned with new content for Children of Earth, along with the new content an brand new 2 minute trailer has been released, which is also current airing on american TV, that can be seen here, and the BBC Torchwood site can be seen here.
